Our Soho Interior Design Project Published in Scotland

It has been a nice start to the Fall season for us at Mehditash Design,

as we were thrilled to be included in the Andrew Martin International Design Review Award book...

as well as hearing that our Soho Apartment design project was also featured in Scotland's Home & Interiors Magazine Oct/Nov 2014 issue.

Here is a glimpse of the project and the feature that I get to share here today.

HOMES & INTERIORS SCOTLAND OCTOBER 2014

"Zesty color combinations, inviting textures and some inspired textile choices have transformed this spacious apartment in Manhattan's historic Wooster Street into a refreshingly relaxed family home. The New York loft might have started life in the 1970s as the last resort of impoverished artists so desperate to work that they'd squat in droughty industrial units, but the concept has come a long way since."  Read more here

This project, which was the second home I designed for this lovely couple, is in the heart of Soho and has all the NYC characteristics one would expect of that Loft like environment, and yet still remains comfortable and cozy for this growing family of 4.

The open dining room / living room floor plan enjoys a contemporary travertine fireplace wall while on the opposing end enjoys a large TV viewing area. Deciding to open this floor plan and have both 9' sofas side by side, allowed for multiple uses of this home and to great result acting as both family room and formal entertaining living area simultaneously.

While the walls in the main living space have bee left white, the 3 bedrooms enjoy both wallcoverings and decorative paint finishes that add the touch of color and pattern that many have grown to associate with my design.
