BlogTour London: Citizen M - The New Hotel Experience

With hotels in Amsterdam (ranked #3 trendiest hotel in the world by TripAdvisor) and Glasgow, and construction underway in New York City, Paris and Rotterdam; CitizenM Hotels newest addition in London’s Bankside district has officially opened and that is where we will be staying!

Since the first citizenM hotel opened in Amsterdam in 2008, the company’s guiding philosophy has been “affordable luxury for the people”. This mantra is as strong as ever in London with the great design by Concrete Architectural Associates .

With a strong focus on contemporary art (the hotel is, after all, just south of the Tate Modern) that is evident from the entrance, with a text piece rightfully claiming "Another World Is Possible" by Turner prize-nominated artist Mark Titchner mounted on the exterior facade,

and carried right the way through into the interior, with works by Gavin Turk,

THE Mario Testino, a video by Belgian artist Hans ob de Beeck and a floor to ceiling mural by the artist collective Assume Vivid Astro Focus (AVAF). Trendy and Wildly colorful art that is both visual eye candy and  thought provoking, with some like the Titchner and AVAF work, having been commissioned by citizenM specifically for this hotel and its guests.

Bars/Restaurants, Lounge and areas of leisure throughout for many tastes ( I can't wait to get there!)

and from what I have heard Each room comes with a “moodpad” - so I guess you will ALL KNOW how I am feeling as I post some more pics from the hotel once we are there.

Thanks again to all that are helping make this event possible:
Stay tuned for more on the BlogTour sponsors and Modenus.

  2. That piece of history is interesting. I wonder what Terminus Hotel would look like if it is still operational today.
