Suzanne Eason - Birthday Studiolo @ Holiday House 2012 |
Suzanne Eason, an interior designer based out of Greenwich, CT revisits her space from last year's Holiday House NY, which I covered here but this time showcases a dream 'Birthday Studiolo' for anyone of any age.
It is so nice to be able to see how one designer can reinterpret the same space in such a different way, which most certainly helps prospective clients understand the immense possibilities and final results, that any one designer can create within the same space.
The "Chroma" wallcovering from Trove Wall acts as a wonderful backdrop generating movement and a fresh whimsical touch, with it's colorful DNA helix inspired pattern.
Layers of textures and materials, from the high gloss lacquered ceiling in "Captivating" blue from Pratt & Lambert Paints and lush carpets in blue silk and the "Amiamo il Serpente" serpentine rug from the Fornasetti Rug Collection of Roubini Rugs, ...
to the lush blue cotton velvet from Kravet on both the petit armchairs with hand carved details in an antiqued gold finish highlighted by the crisp white trim for an ultra modern touch,
and the gorgeous and lush draperies with the New Aurelia Ombre Border from Samuel & Sons, with bright green lining on the reverse, which is seen as you enter the bathroom.

Stunning Lamps “Coins”Table Lamps - in Green glass from Lorin Marsh, with polished nickel fitting with green glass lollypop
finial, two light cluster are very special statement pieces ...
while the combination of gold and silver tones in the choice of finishes, in furniture, metals and accessories allows for a timeless and very contemporary ambiance.
Modern art by Kathy Buist and classical natural scenes live hand in hand, ..
as well as on one of the highlights of the room, the new Suzanne Eason / Robert Allen chair,
Robert Allen Fabric on Dwell Studio Chair by Suzanne Eason; SFERRA linens throw |
"Robert Allen asked me to design the chair and gave me the Dwell chair, sight unseen,... So I chose the new fabric line from Robert Allen, which is the Malakos with the new Wool Sateen Magenta from Beacon Hill/Robert Allen for the quarter inch flanged trim, and then I dressed up the legs to make it a little more neo-classical so it would match the room.
"I did the high gloss leg in Designer White and then just added a little bracelet of the brass tacks, so you have a little bit of mid-century in the neo-classical room - Suzanne Eason via Go Design Go
Love this chair??
It will be auctioned off as part of a one day sale on One King's Lane December 7, along with other items donated by DDB showrooms, with 100% of the proceeds going to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
Love the original Kathy Buist paintings.
