After seeing the great reaction from my roundup of Window Treatments Galore I thought I would put together another collection of my posts on Working with an Interior Designer and some thoughts on the putting together lighting schemes and mood boards.
Happy reading!

Palm Springs: Fall Modernism Week House Tours - Part 2
Continuing my tours of homes in Palm Springs from my last post in Araby Cove, today I venture into the lovely Indian Canyon part of town.
Welcome to the home of Orange County interior designer Patricia Clayton Winters, the second home on my Modernism Week tour.
Patricia in her home |
The wide open floor plan and sliding glass windows provide maximum views of the course and the mountains from every angle. Built in 1970, this 3 bedroom + 3 bath home provide the owners with a fabulous place to entertain their ever growing family in style.
Some fun features that really make this home unique, is the sunken wet bar with Terrazo counter-top perfect for entertaining ...
Both the Master and Guest Bedrooms are casual and comfortable for weekend getaways and summer long adventures, and perfectly in keeping with the laid back vibe that Palm Springs inspires.
The outdoor pool and living space doesn't disappoint, and was kept in a perfectly neutral black and white mix which always works.

Palm Springs: Fall Modernism Week House Tours - Part 1
While visiting Palm Springs for the Fall preview of Modernism Week as part of the California Home + Design contributing editors at large, I was privileged enough to have a private tour of a few of the fine homes being shown.
This home owner lovingly restored a historic Robson Chambers
home nestled in the private enclave of Araby Cove.
This home was originally built in 1949 for his brother, John Chambers and although found in a complete state of disrepair, the owners carefully and meticulously restored the main floor level while reviving the bomb shelter below into a wonderful second suite.
On three lots, the expansive deck provides the homeowners with a wonderfully private viewpoint overlooking the Araby Wash.
The true beauty of Palm Springs is how very different each area is from one another, with EVERYTHING being "allowed' and accepted. Stay tuned for some more of my House Tours from Palm Springs over the next few posts.
