Celebrating Earth Day with Go Design Go

Interior by Mehditash Design
“Having started my career working at Sotheby’s in Portugal, I find myself always attracted to unique antiques and fabulous one of a kind pieces of art that make each design an individualized representation of my clients. By re-using materials and products you are providing them a new home rather than dumping them into landfills. Antiques offer an opportunity to recycle great industrial design while showing gratitude to the artifacts history and story.”—Jennifer Mehditash

Head over to Go Design Go now, to read how these fabulous fellow interior designers make their contribution to being Earth conscious while designing fabulous rooms.

SAVE BIG - Why You Should Hire an Interior Designer

No I am not crazy.. I mean it. If you want to SAVE YOUR MONEY TODAY, hire an interior designer to help bring your ideas to life.

I am approached so frequently about what the design process looks like and how I structure my own working collaboration with my clients that I decided it was time to put it all down in black and white. It is much more than just helping my clients choose between a blue or green wall.. or which sofa to buy for their living room. My clients are always very smart, chic and highly style savvy people. THEY KNOW WHAT THEY WANT... or what they don't want at the very least.

I help bring my clients' vision to life and smooth out all the bumps in the road along the way.

As part of the process, every design idea will be presented to you through samples, mood boards, power point presentations and even design sketches or 3D renderings or perspectives when needed, so that you are 100% confident with the choices we make together.

DO YOUR RESEARCH.. & TRUST YOUR DECISION

With everything at your fingertips today, it is so easy to really get to know your designer in advance. Before working with me, I ask my clients to follow me on Pinterest and Instagram - I am much more than just the homes that I design for my clients. As I believe 100% that these should reflect MY CLIENTS vision just as much as my own, searching through my design portfolio will also represent them and their needs as well as the specific architecture of their home.

Want to know if we "click" on more than just design?
That's the best way to feel 100% CONFIDENCE that we will be on the same page in every important decision.  If you feel like you want to Re-Pin every image from my pinterest pages  - then you will know we are a perfect match!

Palm Springs: Fall Modernism Week House Tours - Part 2

Continuing my tours of homes in Palm Springs from my last post in Araby Cove, today I venture into the lovely Indian Canyon part of town.

Welcome to the home of  Orange County interior designer Patricia Clayton Winters, the second home on my Modernism Week tour.

Patricia in her home

This home remains among the few with the Indian Canyons Country Club 15th fairway as part of its backyard, and a real privilege to have both these wide open greens as well as the mountain from which the area takes its name just beyond.

The wide open floor plan and sliding glass windows provide maximum views of the course and the mountains from every angle. Built in 1970, this 3 bedroom + 3 bath home provide the owners with a fabulous place to entertain their ever growing family in style.

Some fun features that really make this home unique, is the sunken wet bar with Terrazo counter-top perfect for entertaining ...

while the Playroom for both children and adults allows for indoor fun as well.

Both the Master and Guest Bedrooms are casual and comfortable for weekend getaways and summer long adventures, and perfectly in keeping with the laid back vibe that Palm Springs inspires.

The outdoor pool and living space doesn't disappoint, and was kept in a perfectly neutral black and white mix which always works.

CHARITY EVENTS

It has been a very busy season, and I have had the pleasure in taking part in 2 major charity fundraising events!

THE MOONLIGHT BALL CENTENNIAL GALA

DESIGN LEAD
A National Historic Landmark located in New York City's largest park, the Bartow-Pell Mansion Museum is an 1840s Greek Revival mansion -- and the last of the country's estates in the Pelham Bay area.  Invited by board member Lynn Bryne, Jennifer was asked to take the lead on the interior design of the "Moonlight Ball" Centennial Gala celebration.  Hosting nearly 370 people, the gardens were filled with music and good cheer, as all of the Bronx and Westchester elite joined in the commemoration.

A SPRING AFFAIR:

TABLE TOP DESIGN: PAPILLION
The Lenox Hill Neighborhood House, one of NYC's most highly regarded and respected nonprofit organizations, held their annual and always-anticipated spring gala at Cipriani 42nd Street.  Jennifer was among the roster of the who's who of designers with her tabletop design titled "Papillion."  With the direction in place to interpret and creatively "evoke Spring," Jennifer decided to take a cue from the regeneration and new beginnings of the life of a butterfly.

S P E A K I N G  E N G A G E M E N T S

An integral part of my career, has been dedicated to integrating speaking engagements, and this season has been no different!

Not only is it an opportunity to give back to my community, but it remains the most enjoyable way to further my own education as I have enjoyed meeting and learning so much from my fellow panelists.

Our industry, is growing at lightning speed, and the best way we can help elevate the entire industry as a whole is by continuing to remain generous with all of the knowledge and experience that we acquire along the way.
